Greetings,
If you are reading this then you have downloaded or acquired a copy of FSDZigns Lockheed 049a "Constellation" Add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Century of Flight, (FS9.) This model and its associated files are designed to be installed into a installation of FS9 only. Use of this model is not supported or intended for any other version of Flight Simulator.
Installation:
Unzip the FSDZL049A_v1.exe installation file into a temporary folder, and double click it. When you are asked to select the location of your FS installation, if you installed it to a different location press the ... button and browse to the main FS2004 folder. Or, you may select a temporary folder to install it into, and manually copy the resulting files. Inside the TWA_ss.zip file will be found FS2004 splash screens that you can add to your FS or splash screen randomizer.
Documentation in the L049A Constellation folder:
1. Panel.doc file, describes and displays various panel features.
2. Credits.rtf file: The rest of the text below.
3. L-049A_check.htm: The checklist file, with links to the FSAviator Reference file and other helpful descriptions. Press F10 while in FS2004 to access.
4. FSAviator reference file: describes how to fly this aircraft in detail, for each phase of flight.
John Howard White is the original creator of this project. However, he was inspired through such wonderful models created by Greg Pepper, Dave McQueen, Tom Gibson, Milton Shupe, Jan Visser, and many more. Tom Gibson was the driving force that got me really into doing the model as accurately as possible while maintaining a low enough poly count to be able to run in the simulator. Tom also stayed with me throughout the whole process and was always there to aid when I ran up against a wall.... Our gratitude and credit must first start with Tom.
There is a large amount of material and software required to do such a project and allot of out side help was required in this endeavor as well. Below is a list of credits.

* Many additional parts and pieces were used in creating the whole package. Even if they are not actually used in the final textures or model they were instrumental in their creation:
Greg Pepper, Tom Gibson for their propliner series of aircraft. I used parts and pieces from many of their creations....
Milton Shupe for his Commander and Howard as his work and attitude is the kind of thing I look up to!
** Additional Credits for the Panel:
Panel is based on the FS2004 Super Constellation Panel (VNCON20.ZIP) made
by Hansjoerg Naegele, Jan Visser, Wolfram Beckert and Howard Sodja.
Checklist for engine start procedure is based on information provided by
Howard Sodja
Parts of the code implementing the fuel system are based on information
provided by Dave Bitzer
Main panel bitmap is a modified bitmap originally made by Jan Visser.
The main panel throttle lever bitmap contains bitmaps made by Louis
Betti.
Parts of the main panel bitmap are based on John Dow's cockpit pictures
(cpjpeg99.zip)of the HARS Connie (VH-EAG).
The main panel instrument bezels and control yoke images are based on
photos provided by Bill Rambow.
The FE panel bitmap is based on a photo of the MATS Connie taken from
Graham Robson's
book: "Prop Perfection - Restored Propliners and Warbirds", 1997 Motorbooks
International
Parts of the cockpit side views are based on cockpit pictures of the AHM
L-1049H "Star of America" (www.airlinehistorymuseum.com). Special thanks to Tim Hanna for
providing us with pictures!
Many gauge bitmaps used are taken from Dai Griffiths' (Dragonflight
Design) gauge bitmap collection (gaubmaps.zip).
The directional gyro (Bendix logo), the flaps indicator (Bendix logo) and
the OBS gauge (OBS selector knob) contain bitmaps taken from Bill Smith's gauge
bitmap collection (realinst.zip).
Several bitmaps and XML-code fragments contained in VNCONNIE049.CAB have
been taken from gauges supplied with the Microsoft FS2002 and FS2004 Flight Simulator.
For the sound:
Sound folder contains modified WAV-files taken from:
Pete Campbell's BIGBRD98.ZIP (ceidle.wav, ce3.wav, ce4.wav, xce3.wav
xce4.wav)
H. P. Christeler's CONNESND.ZIP (ce2.wav, xce2.wav, gearup.wav,
geardn.wav, flaps.wav)
Other WAV-files are taken from the Microsoft FS2004 Flight Simulator.
Finally, thanks Uncle Jack, you were and always will be the pilot that made me look to the skies. The "Star" is dedicated to you. I know you are flying her once again.
