Moscow 1963 Scenery


Version 1, 17th January 2011, for FS2004 only.
This scenery depicts the Moscow airports Sheremetyevo (UUEE) and Vnukovo (UUWW) as they appeared around 1963. I tried to be as authentic as possible when creating this scenery.
I am a big fan of Russian planes and I wanted to put the classic models into an authentic scenery frame. I am not Russian nor do I speak Russian nor have I ever been to the former USSR (except a 4 hour transit in Sheremetyevo’s terminal F). Sorry if there might be a few inaccuracies. Still I hope you can enjoy the scenery.  
 
Vnukovo Airport was the main Moscow airport until Sheremetyevo opened in 1959, when also all international traffic was moved there. The Sheremetyevo International terminal of the era was the white building in the South of the airport, located where the terminal F stands. All international traffic was handled there, including Aeroflot’s, while the North terminal was only handling domestic traffic, before the “UFO” shaped terminal F was inaugurated in 1966. 
 
The “protocol” building
Another building worth mentioning here is the Vnukovo “protocol” terminal, where domestic and international VIPs were welcomed (the AFCAD parking positions in front were hence labeled MIL_CARGO). The building is located in the very South of the airport.
Last but not least I added the small airfield of Ivanovo (UUBI) about 140 km NorthEast of Moscow to offer to users the possibility to fly to a small domestic destination. 
  	


NOTE: on the ILS systems, only a short range (15 nm) is available.  This is due to the somewhat weak Soviet technology used at the time. 
As Domodedovo (UUDD) was opened in 1964, in this scenery it is completely invisible.

Installation:
IMPORTANT:
Make sure you have downloaded and installed the CalClassic complete EZ-library and also Mike Stevens’s wonderful East Germany 1963 scenery BEFORE you proceed with the installation!

Procedure for installation
1.	Unzip the the moscow1963.zip file into your “addon scenery” folder
2.	Start fs2004
3.	click SETTINGS/Scenery Library. Click the Add area button. 
Browse to the Addon Scenery folder & select “Moscow 1963 LC”.
4.	Click OK. 
5.	Click the Add area button. 
Browse to the Addon Scenery folder & select “Moscow 1963”.
6.	Click OK. 
7.	Quit fs2004
8.	Relaunch fs2004
9.	Enjoy being back to 1963 USSR!
