Converting FS9 AFCADS to use in FSX

PLEASE NOTE: The files contained in the zip file remain the Property and Copyright of the original Authors and I make no claim to them what so ever !!!

The Auto-Convert Batch File was created by mean but please feel free to alter it to suit your own needs.

I have left a copy of the original AFCAD file I used to testing this method "YDPO" for those that might want to have a closer look at what I have done.

Please make sure you follow the steps as setout below (Please retain the Original AFCAD File name):

1. Open the zip file and "copy and paste" the "fs92fsx Folder" onto your Desktop.

2. Now find an FS9 AFCAD BGL file that you want to Convert for using in FSX.

3. Copy and Paste this file into the "newbglanalyse folder".

4. Open "NewBglAnalyze" (Double click) , find the AFCAD you want to Convert and then "disassemble" making sure you save it as an XML file (example:AF2_YDPO.xml) and not as a txt file (Please retain thye original AFCAD File Name).

5. The copy and paste your XML file into the "BGLCompX Folder".

6. Now "Double Click" on the "Auto-Convert" and this will create your NEW FSX AFCAD File.

7. Copy your NEW AFCAD File into your "FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery"  Folder and then start FSX and your New AFCAD will be as it was in FS9 (FS2004).


Hope this works as well for you as it has for me, it might sound and look like a very long process but once you have done this a few times you will find it only takes maybe 2-3 minutes to convert each AFCAD.
