DOWNGRADE OF MAULE M-7-260 WITH 235 h.p. ENGINE


This package converts FS2004 Maule M-7-260 by Mikko Maliniemi et al. to a more common variant powered by 235 h.p. Lycoming IO-540-W1A5 engine.

The original aircraft configuration was modified as follows:
- reduced engine rating to 2400 RPM and 235 h.p.
- reduced empty aircraft dry weight according to the difference in engine weight
- replaced tachometer dial
- removed 4th passenger from load section, moved the rear passenger to aircraft's centerline
- moved baggage position closer to aircraft's CG, baggage is placed between back seat and cabin wall now
- moved VC viewpoint a bit to the right
- corrected aircraft information in UI to reflect performance changes.

The configuration was tested in standard atmosphere conditions for speed and fuel flow and matched the real aircraft data quite well.


INSTALLATION

In order for this mod to work you must have Maule M-7-260 by Mikko Maliniemi et al. available from FSnordic file library installed on your computer.

1. Unzip this archive to a temporary folder.

2. Go to the "AIRCRAFT" folder of your simulator and copy 7 folders beginning with "Maule M7-260" to the folders with the corresponding names, but having "235" instead of "260". For example copy "Maule M7-260 Amphibian" to "Maule M7-235 Amphibian".

3. Go to the "GAUGES" folder and create a folder named "Maule_IG_ENG_235". Using an archive utility that supports CAB format (ex. WinRAR) unpack the archive  "Maule_IG_ENG.CAB" from the "GAUGES" folder to the newly created folder.

4. Copy "AIRCRAFT" and "GAUGES" folders from your temporary folder to the simulator's main folder. Answer YES when asked if you want to overwrite any existing files. In all 15 files should be replaced.

5. (optional) Compress entire contents of the "GAUGES\Maule_IG_ENG_235" folder including "640" subfolder to archive named "Maule_IG_ENG_235.cab" and place it to the "GAUGES" folder. Delete "GAUGES\Maule_IG_ENG_235" folder. If you opt to leave the gauge components uncompressed they will load faster at the cost of taking up a little more disk space.
