Dehong Mangshi airport situated at 6.5 kilometers south of Luxi County. The origin of this airport can
be traced back to 1937, as one major airport supporting the Hump Route. After the Sino-Japanese war,
the airport was not operational. In April, 1990, this airport has reopened after a 1-year-and-a-half
construction, with a 2200-meter runway. Soon it became one of major airports in Yunnan Province,
Southwest China.
