On October 6, 1996, an Air Sofia Antonov 12 performed the only ever Kai Tak IGS approach of any Soviet-built aircraft, as it flew in equipment in support of Sting's Mercury Falling tour. Sting would later perform over the following two days in the Hong Kong Coliseum.
